Early September heat

It's ironic that I'm finishing this up during a "flood day"...yes, like a snow day but for flooding.  See my earlier post for details :)  Early September was been crazy hot—we finally had some relief about the 10^th—but earlier this month the kids spent an afternoon in the yard with water.  Lots and lots of water….

 Why do we have so many sand pails?  Because a couple years ago I planted my garden too early.  Um, early May.  And there was a late frost...so we went to the dollar store about bought about 20 to put over our little baby plants.







The Girl has started tying her shirts up in the back like this--yikes...

 They were very, very wet.  And you can see we have grass in the backyard, sort of.

And I had to take a picture of my secret garden--the hot weather (and the water) have made them go crazy!
