Legolas hair

Since The Boy was pretty little, we've kept his hair short...essentially shaving his head most summers.

This has never really been a problem until last spring when he discovered the Lord of the Rings movies.   He has announced that he wants to grow his hair out like Legolas (if you're having trouble picturing this, hop on over to Wikipedia, they have a nice article with pictures).  His second choice of hair, is, wait for it...Anikin Skywalker (thanks again, Wikipedia).  Yes, that's right, a young Darth Vader, with an interesting little braid, kind of like a side pony tail mullet.
Unfortunately (for The Boy), his school has a pretty strict dress code.  So, when we reached August 5 and this was his hair...

We knew it was time for a, um, trim.
After a relatively quick wait in a chain salon, he now has dress code worthy hair...

Sorry, Legolas...maybe he can grow it out for college...
